Intro - About Archives

Imagine that you have created a folder on your PC, and put there everything about your personality - your CV, some of your great photos, and your latest song text. And now you want to share all that with other people.
However, you can not attach a folder to your e-mail, or upload it somewhere.
And here come archives!
Archives allow you to pack any amount of files and folders into one sweet file, that you may send, attach to your letter, either upload on the Internet.

That's why the archives are so popular nowadays, especially in the Internet.

Different Archives formats and Software

There are many different types of archives, such as .rar, .zip, .arj. And there are different programs to deal with each one of them, such as WinRar - for RARs, WinZIP- for ZIPs, and so on.

IZArc is a free software that allows you to create and extract files from most types of archives, including .rar, and .zip - two most used in the Internet.

Installing Software to Open, Extract and Create archives

Click here, and a Download should start.

Once you have finished the download, run installation and follow the on-screen instructions to install IZArc on your computer.

Once done, it will integrate into your system, so that when you click .rar or .zip file for the next time, IZArc program will run, allowing you to extract packed files.

Extracting contents from Archives

• 1. Doubleclick any archive file, and IZArc windows should open. If you have a split-archive (file.r01,file.r02,file.r03,..,file.rar), open the main .rar file (file.rar), not the parts (file.rxx)


• 2. Click "Extract.." in IZArc window, then choose a temporary folder on your PC, where the files will be stored (like "My documents\GTA_files"), and click OK. Now all packed files are unpacked into the folder you have choosen.
